Attendance and Punctuality
Our school operates a soft start in the morning and the school gates open at 8:45am and close at 8:55am. When children arrive at school they proceed straight inside to their classrooms.
Children need to arrive at school between 8:45am and 8:55am. This gives the children and teachers time to look at work from the previous day, to settle in class and to organise themselves for the day.
The Education Act of 1996 states that it is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to ensure that all children between the ages of 5 and 16 years attend school on a regular basis and on time.
If children are going to be absent, parents or carers are expected to telephone the school office at 020 7476 1727 with a message on the first day of absence.
You can learn more about attendance here.
School Meals, Snacks and Drinks
School meals are served at lunchtime each day for all children attending school full-time. Halal, Vegetarian and fish options are also served each day. A copy of the week’s menu is displayed on the door of the school playground, in the school hall, outside of the Reception classrooms and is available from the School Office.
Children may bring a packed lunch into school instead – please ensure that it provides a balanced, healthy meal.
Children may bring fruit or a cereal bar to eat at playtime, but sweets, crisps and chocolate are not allowed. We promote the drinking of water in school and children are encouraged to drink regularly during the school day. Only juice and water may be brought into school, fizzy drinks and squashes are not allowed.
We operate a Breakfast Club for children in full-time school. The number of places is limited and children who are offered a place are expected to attend each day. Breakfast Club does not operate on a drop-in basis.
