At Drew Primary we are committed to promoting the safety and welfare of all our pupils, staff and visitors.
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility and as a parent, carer, family member or neighbour, you may have concerns about the welfare of a child or young person. If you are worried, you can seek advice and support in the following ways:
By contacting Newham local authority on 020 3373 4600 Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm or on 020 8430 2000 any other time alternatively the NSPCC by calling 0808 800 5000 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you believe that a child or young person is at immediate risk of harm or danger please contact the police on 999.
As a school, we have a legal responsibility to inform Social Care of any child protection concerns relating to children who attend our settings.
In the majority of cases a member of staff will contact you to discuss this and if necessary any subsequent referral to social care. Please be aware you may not be contacted in advance of a referral if it is felt this could place a child at risk of ‘significant harm.’
We appreciate your support in this matter.
